Virginia is tied with UNC for second place in the Atlantic Coast Conference with 9-2 records, followed by Syracuse 8-3 and Louisville 8-4.

So much has changed in local sports. Remember when local high school teams included Elizabethtown, Bladenboro, Clarkton, Tar Heel and White Oak….there was also Bladen Central, Booker T. Washington, East Arcadia, Spaulding Monroe, maybe more…..some very good action in the 50s and 60s….Great play, facilities not so good for many.
