The North Carolina 9th Congressional District Special Primary Election will take place on May 14.  If no candidate receives 30 per cent of the vote, a runoff will take place on September 19 and the general election will be November 5.  But, if a primary runoff is not necessary, the general election will take place on September 10.  Ten (10) Republican candidates have filed, only one Democrat.  The Special Election was necessary due to allegations of tampering following the November 2018 elections.

Bladen County District 3 voters will elect a county commissioner (Russell Priest vs Wayne Edge).  Countywide voters will elect two members to the Soil and Water Conservation Board.

Busy, busy time in Bladen.

Dear Winter, I’m breaking up with you.  I think it’s time I start seeing other seasons.  Summer is hotter than you.

I went to bed and lost an hour while I slept.  If only losing weight were that easy!

I wondered lonely as a cloud that floats high over vales and hills, when all at once I saw a crowd, a host of golden daffodils; beside the lake, beneath the trees, fluttering and dancing in the breeze.  William Wadesworth
