Thoughts While ShavingIt’s Monday, a new week begins following a busy, wet weekend.

Bladen County Commissioners meet for regular business session, same time 6:30 PM and same location, Bladen County Courthouse.  Public is welcome.

Bladen County Emergency Management Director, Bradley Kinlaw is one of about 10 from North Carolina who are in Hawaii to assist with issues related to the ongoing volcano that has been spewing hot ash on one of the islands.  Am told, that was the way the island was formed, many years ago.

Brunswick Community College baseball team is in Oklahoma, or will be soon, participating in the D!! World Series beginning Saturday, May 26 and continuing until June 2.  Kyle Tatum, East Bladen grad, is an integral part of the team, as the catcher, overcoming a freak accident early in the season and had a very good year.  Robbie Allen is the BCC Dolphin coach, and has been for many years.  BCC earned a birth in the finals by winning the Southeast championship.

Social media still has some work to do, eliminating ‘foul mouth’ language, not just by those you may would expect, many times it is college grads who still have trouble expressing themselves without using extremely ‘salty’ 4 letter words.

BladenOnline had another good week, statistically, not great, but very good.  My early goal was anything over 100,000 ‘page views’ a week as good, nearly 15,000 daily, round-the-clock.
