Thoughts While ShavingFootball last night: Clinton 14 – East Bladen 0…Eagle errors helped the Dark Horses win.  A fumble at the end of the 1st quarter on their 8 yard line set the table for 1st Clinton score and an off-side penalty on fourth and five, early in second half, allowed Dark Horses to get first down and scored on next play and tacked on 2 pointer for the victory. On the positive side, Eagles played well on defense, offense needs more work.  Coach Robby Priest had last chemo treatment earlier Friday and returns for check-up in 3 months.

West Bladen lost 41-12 to South Brunswick.  Two late TDs by SB made the loss look worse than it was.  Coach Kris Williams indicated more work is needed before the game next week at Midway.

East Bladen will travel to North Brunswick.

Panthers 25 – New England Pats 14….good preseason game for the Panthers…

Fairmont native William McGirt’s season is over, failed to make the cut in this weeks playoffs.  He is headed to hospital for surgery to repair issue that has bothered him for a while.  Picked up over $930,000 for the year, finished #121 on the PGA money list.

Love this time of year!  High school fall sports underway, Labor Day next weekend, Bladenboro Beast Fest last weekend in October, elections in November and frost later part of October or early November and grass cutting  will be over ’til next spring.

Weather over past couple of days, GREAT.  Today, Sunny, high mid 80s with a northeast wind 3 to 7 mph.
