Thoughts While ShavingBeen humming the old Johnny Paycheck tune, ‘Take This Job and Shove It’, not sure why, I don’t have a job.  Out of the fast lane, just watching the crowd go by.  Not bad.  Beats the heck out of breaking corn, pickin’ cotton, stacking peanuts and grading tobacco.

Have you noticed the days are getting shorter…sunrise at 6:50 this AM, sunset at 7:35 PM.

Dublin Peanut Festival will be held Saturday, September 15.

Another date to remember, annual gathering at Brown Marsh Presbyterian Church at 8561 Mercer Mill/Brown Marsh Road near Clarkton on October 6, from 11 AM to 2 PM.  All are welcomed.

NFL football season begins tomorrow evening (Thursday) and Friday evening, high school play continues, Whiteville at East Bladen and West Bladen travels to Fairmont.  Still miss broadcasting Friday night football.

With election activity picking up, checked the Bladen County Board of Elections website.  Jens Lutz is Chairman, Bobby Ludlum Vice-Chair, Al Daniels is Secretary and Rob Davis is a member.

Former Bladen County planner and retired military, William (Bill) Davis has written a book, Sunrise, Sunset, A Memoir, available in hardcover or paperback from Barnes & Noble, eBay or Amazon.  Ordered my copy.
