Now that we are in the middle of Memorial Day Weekend let us pause to remember our Military Service Members that paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Memorial Day was formerly known as Decoration Day. As mentioned in one of our previous articles this week, the day first began to honor those who were killed during the Civil War from 1861 to 1865. However, now Memorial Day is set aside to honor all whom have died during each of the wars involving the United States.
This year there are over 1.3 million Americans to remember and honor during the Memorial Day holiday. According to statista.com, following are the number of United States Military fatalities in major wars from 1775 through this year:
