Two triathlons on Saturday and one on Sunday attracted 638 athletes to run, swim and bike around White Lake.
The results were Saturday: White Lake Spring International had 166 men competing and 85 women. The winner in the men’s division was Brandon Nix from Wilmington with a time of 2:18:03. The winner in the women’s division was Molly Lohry from Raleigh with a time of 2:35:02. The International consisted of a 1,500 meter swim, 45K bike and a 10K run.
The White Lake Spring Half 2016 was also held on Saturday. It consisted of a 1 1/2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and a 13.1 mile run. The winner in the men’s division was Thomas Wood of Buckhammon, West Virginia with a time of 4:25:34. The women’s division winner was Amy Krakauer from Davidson, N. C. with a time of 4:52:28. 131 men and 49 women participated in this event.
The White Lake Spring Sprint 2016 was held Sunday. 123 men and 84 women participated Sunday with the men’s winner being Dan Young from Cary, N.C. with a time of 1:07:45 and the women’s winner being Alison Klatman from Chapel Hill, N.C. with a time of 1:16:25.
The headquarters for all the events was the FFA Camp at White Lake.
