A fire in a peanut roaster had emergency responders on the scene quickly Friday afternoon at the Houston Peanuts Salt Plant.
According to Bladen County Fire Marshal, Kenneth Clark, the fire involved one roaster.
The roaster was cooking about 100 pounds of peanuts when the fire occurred. The sprinkler system activated quickly extinguishing the fire, said Clark.
“We are working to make sure the fire is completely out and evacuating smoke from the building,” said Clark.
No injuries were reported.
The Dublin, Bladenboro, Elizabethtown and Tar Heel fire departments all responded along with Bladen County EMS.
