Congressman Robert Pittenger HeadshotCongressman Robert Pittenger is excited to announce two additional finalists for the 2016 Congressional Art Competition.

**Anna Lichtenberger, a junior at Charlotte Christian School, was selected as the “Wild Card” finalist by Megan Glasco of the Art Institute of Charlotte for her scratch art entry titled “Big Sur View.”

**Kenna-Faith Hovey, a freshman at Statesville Christian School, was chosen as a finalist via the community Facebook competition for the watercolor entry titled “The World in True Colors.”

Sneha Mehrotra of Ardrey Kell High School, Parker Greaves of Renaissance at Olympic High School, Emily Jane Chapman of Weddington High School,Brooke Drury of Providence High School, and Jacob Thomas of Parkwood High School were announced as finalists on Tuesday.

After final judging, the first place entry will be displayed in a busy corridor of the U.S. Capitol for one year.

A reception for all participants, their families, and teachers will be held Friday, April 15th, 4-6:30 p.m., at the Art Institute of Charlotte.  The winning entry will be announced at the reception.

“We will proudly display the winning entry in one of the busiest corridors of the U.S. Capitol so that we can brag on our exceptional local students each time we pass by,” said Congressman Pittenger.  “Congratulations to the finalists, and to each student who entered.  You displayed tremendous skill and courage, and we are proud of all of you.”
