Thank you for capturing the council meeting on video for the people. Like so many in this great state, I fully honor and respect our nations flag as well as our state flag. While it is her choice not to pledge or stand for the pledge, she should not invoke her voting power to take that right away from those that wish to say the pledge. Her elected position has nothing to do with her personal feelings. It has everything to do with the people who elected her. I would be interested to see if they would say the pledge to the NC State flag. This was voted on and adopted in 2007. The council should also have the NC State flag beside the USA Flag as a sign of our union and commitment to and of our nation. I have included a link and a picture of the state flag pledge.
