Politics: Voting districts, map drawing and gerrymandering to be discussed in Bladen County

A public educational seminar that will be held on Oct. 15th at the Powell-Melvin Agricultural Service Center Building regarding the issue of voting districts and map drawing, and it will address the current hot-button issue of gerrymandering.

The seminar is being conducted by Dr. Jennifer Bremer, who is the State Chair for the North Carolina Fair Elections Action Team.  The entire issue of map-rigging is, in fact, a partisan issue designed to destroy democratic representation, and it has become a national scandal. Dr. Bremer’s presentation offers a look into the history, the background, and the current, on-going litigation relating to this issue, and offers insights into the best ways to address it.

The presentation is free and open to the public. There is no cost to attend. The seminar will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 15th, between 6PM-8PM at the Powell-Melvin Agricultural Service Center Building, 450 Smith Circle, Elizabethtown, NC. 28337.
