The murder trial for Montise Mitchell got underway on Monday with several pretrial motions. The motions were heard in Bladen County Superior Court by Judge Rebecca Holt.
Mitchell is facing a charge of first degree murder for the shooting death of Darrell Dionte Council in November 2015.
A motion to dismiss the charges against Mitchell presented by his Defense Attorney Teresa Gibson was denied by Judge Holt.
Another motion was presented to suppress prior actions committed by Mitchell. Defense Attorney Gibson and Bladen County Assistant District Attorney Quentin McGee both told Judge Holt they had reached an agreement on the matter.
