The Lumber River Agency on Aging announced details on the Family Caregiver Support Program – Pet Adoption Program. If you are a caregiver of an older adult or know someone who is, this information may be of assistance to you.
A caregiver for an older adult that is experiencing social isolation, living with dementia or cognitive impairment, in need of companionship, and is at least 60 years old may seek assistance with this program.
These interactive robot pets can provide companionship, meaningful connection, and purpose for an older adult.
They have been shown to reduce feelings of social isolation and loneliness as well as decrease mental decline.
No fee for qualifying individuals. Quantities are limited.
