Bladen County Animal ShelterEach year millions of dogs and cats are put to death in shelters because there are not enough homes for them. Yet each year more litters are born.

There is no reason to start this cycle again each spring. Each animal that is spayed or neutered now is prevented from producing litters that will add to this year’s problems, as well as this years’ animal control costs.

Behavior associated with unfixed dogs & cats includes roaming, fighting and neighborhood nuisances.  All taxpayers foot the bill for pet owners who produce unwanted litters of dogs and cats.

Spay/neuter and vaccination are part of responsible pet ownership.  Elizabethtown Veterinary Hospital Rabies Clinics begin this Saturday, March 12: check the Upcoming Events Section  for details and times.

Low-income families who want to get their pets spayed or neutered at A Shelter Friend’s monthly low-income clinic can call 910-645-2297 for information and sign-up.  Share this number with your friends and neighbors who are producing unwanted litters of puppies and kittens.  Don’t Wait.  Do it now.
