West Bladen’s Raegan Davis has been named the Three Rivers Conference volleyball Player of the Year.

Davis led the Lady Knights to a tie for third place in the TRC Class 2A standings with a 10-8 league record and an 11-9 overall mark. Raegan matched the accomplishment of her sister Mallory who was named Four County Player of the Year in her senior season.

Also named to the All-Conference team were West Bladen senior Caroline Davis (no relation) and East Bladen senior Sarah Johnson.

“Raegan was pivotal in all of our games,” said Lady Knight Coach Gaye Davis. “Her defense (blocks) and offense (kills and sets) were a big part of our team.”

The 6-1 senior pounded in 248 kills, 70 blocks, 76 aces and 119 service points. Raegan Davis also contributed 120 assists and 47 digs.

“Raegan is a silent leader,” continued Coach Davis. “She did her job and was ready for the next volley, but she was not our total team. When she was having an off game her teammates stepped up to the challenge.”

Caroline Davis, the Lady Knight librero, keyed the West Bladen defense with 256 digs.

Johnson, a senior, racked up 10 blocks, 9 kills and 10 service points against South Robeson, and hammered in 9 kills and 9 service points versus St. Pauls. Johnson knocked in 8 kills in the Eagles’ first meeting with South Robeson. Other top games for Johnson included 7 kills and 3 blocks against West Bladen, and 6 kills, 7 service points and 3 blocks versus Whiteville.

Receiving honorable mention for the Lady Knights were junior Lexi Corrothers (130 kills, 45 service points, 19 aces), junior Mikayla Meadows (115 kills, 28 blocks, 74 service points and 45 aces), and junior Jordan Benson (140 assists, 51 service points, 18 aces and 24 digs).

East Bladen did not have anyone receive honorable mention.
