CLARKTON – Weather permitting, CSX Transportation will close a U.S. 701 Bypass intersection in Bladen County starting Tuesday, Oct. 17.
The railroad plans to close the bypass in both directions at West South Railroad Street in Clarkton to allow its crews to upgrade the crossing. The road is expected to reopen Oct. 20.
A detour will send traffic onto N.C. 211 and U.S. 701 Business.
