National Weather ServiceRain and cooler temperatures are on the way for midweek, according to the National Weather Service office in Wilmington.  Temperatures for Monday are forecasted to reach into the mid-70s then fall for the end of the week.

According to Meteorologist Steven Pfaff, temperatures will be cooler than normal for the period Wednesday through Friday.

Rainfall: The chance for showers and a few thunderstorms will increase during Tuesday and Tuesday night with rainfall amounts averaging one inch through Wednesday morning. Isolated flooding is possible, especially in poor drainage locations. Otherwise, no significant impacts are expected through the remainder of the week.
