Heavy rain and lightning halted Bladen Recreation play Wednesday night with the BlueClaws leading the GreenJackets 8-3 in Dixie Boys action, and the Lady Divas leading the Lady Rams 7-5 in 11-14 Fast Pitch girls softball action.
The Dixie Boys game was suspended in the 6th inning, and the softball game was stopped in the 4th inning. The games will be completed later in the season.
Cade Allen had struck out 10 batters in 5.1 innings on the mound for the BlueClaws allowing 3 runs on a hit and 3 walks.
Gavin Elks batted 2-for-2 with 2 runs scored to lead the BlueClaw hitters. Conner Smith slammed a run-scoring double. Aiden Russ, Hunter Hester and Chason Harris had 1 hit each for the BlueClaws. Hester and Chace Butler scored 2 runs each. Russ and Allen scored 1 run each, and Allen belted a 2-run single.
Torrean Cogdell smacked a 3rd inning single for the lone GreenJacket hit. Davion Lewis, Natoren Corbett and Isaiah Lee scored runs for the GreenJackets.
