Much needed rain Friday in Clarkton resulted in the postponement of the North Carolina Diamond Youth Baseball Division 1 AAA (Minors) championship game.

The game between Winter Park and Topsail has been rescheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Clarkton DYB Complex.

The winner of Saturday’s game will play in the Diamond Youth Baseball Division 1 AAA (Minors) World Series beginning August 2 in Bossier City, Louisiana. The North Carolina champion will play the Florida champion in the first round.

Winter Park defeated Topsail 10-1 last Sunday in the second round of the 12-team double elimination tournament.
