Cade Allen pitched a one-hitter and struck out 9 batters Friday night to lead the Red team to a 12-1 victory over the Black in Bladen Recreation 13-14 Baseball at County Park.

Darius Williamson slugged a home run in the 1st inning for the Black’s only hit. Allen issued 5 walks but blasted a 2-run homer in the bottom of the 5th inning that ended the game on the 10-run rule. Hezekiah Blanks-Adams walked and scored on Allen’s home run.

Blanks-Adams and Allen drew walks to start the Red half of the 1st and raced home when Matthew Kemp hammered a double. Lee Barnes and Aiden Russ belted singles, and Conner Smith and Trenton Meares reached base on errors that scored Barnes for a 3-1 Red lead.

Barnes and Smith cracked singles in the Red’s 3rd inning, and Russ and Richard Severine drew walks. Barnes and Russ scored, before Blanks-Adams walloped a home run that cleaned the bases and stretched the Red lead to 8-1.

Kemp smacked a single to start the Red 4th inning. Barnes walked, Jonah Bryan reached base and Russ connected for a single. Kemp and Barnes scored runs as the lead grew to 10-1.

Barnes and Russ both batted 2-2 for the Red, and Kemp finished 2-3 with a double as the Red improved to 2-0 with the win.
