Reindeer 5K this weekend to help make a difference

Don’t forget the Reindeer 5K to help raise money for good causes this weekend! The North Carolina Junior Beta Club President, Jair McElveen and the Youth Ambassadors of Men & Women United for Youth and Families are joining forces to help make a difference and you’re invited to join in the fun.

The young leaders are working together to host a fundraiser to benefit the North Carolina Junior Beta Club, Hurricane Victims on Ocracoke Island and the Youth Ambassadors.

NC Junior Beta Club promotes achievement, leadership, character, and service. Youth Ambassadors of Men & Women United for Youth and Families are a mission based group formed to make high school students leaders in the tri-county area (Bladen, Columbus and Brunswick counties).

After Jair, the NC Junior Beta Club President, other Junior Beta Club members and their parents met with the Youth Ambassadors this month, the two groups formed a plan to help their organizations and others in North Carolina. The group decided to have an event to raise money to help their service minded organizations and to help those currently suffering from the damages Hurricane Dorian left behind this year on Ocracoke Island.

The two groups are planning a Reindeer 5K to raise money to help make a difference all across North Carolina.

The money raised will be divided between the Junior Beta, the Ocracoke Island Disaster Victims, and the Men & Women United for Youth and Families, which leads the Youth Ambassador program.

The Reindeer 5K Run or Walk will be SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2019 at 292 Bengreen Industrial Park Road in Elizabethtown, NC. The RACE DAY REGISTRATION will be 7:30 a.m. -8 a.m. and the RACE TIME will be 8:30 a.m.

“I want to make a difference while I am NC Junior Beta Club President,” President Jair McElveen said after he explained his idea during the Youth Ambassador meeting.

The Youth Ambassador sponsor, Mr. Randolph Keaton said he hopes this project will be the first event of many where the two groups can work together on to utilize their leadership skills for the betterment of their community.

The task of getting the word out and promoting the event along with organizing the event will fall on the Junior Beta Club members and the Youth Ambassador members.

The planning has taken longer than first thought, and the time is closing in on the dedicated organizers. Jair would like as many Junior Beta Club members to help as much possible with getting the word out and participating or assisting the day of the event.

Below is the registration form and the sponsorship form.  All donations will be tax deductible.
