There is a Reopen Harmony Hall 2019 Fundraising Campaign happening now on Facebook.  Harmony Hall Plantation is a historic property located in White Oak, NC.

According to their Facebook page, Harmony Hall Plantation is the pre-Revolutionary War era home of Col. James Richardson on the Cape Fear River. The plantation today is home to several buildings that span the years from the home’s origin to 1900-including a one-room school which operated in Bladen County during the last quarter of the nineteenth century.

Harmony Hall is owned by Harmony Hall Plantation Village, Inc. and is operated and maintained by a dedicated group of volunteers. The home place has been on the National Register of Historic Landmarks since 1972.

The #ReOpenHarmonyHall2019 campaign Facebook page created by Mrs. Sunday Allen says, “Hurricane Florence hit our historic property with a storm of wind-driven rain and left us with a badly molded interior. We have to gut to the studs and start again. And , we must replace our cedar shake roof. The estimates so far fall between $15000 and $25000.”

It adds, “We are working with guidance from Cultural Preservation experts to make sure that everything is done with preservation in mind.”
