The 2020 tourism spending numbers for North Carolina was recently released by Visit North Carolina. The figures in The Economic Impact of Travel on North Carolina Counties report showed that Bladen County received $36.9 million with approximately 239 workers in the tourism industry in the county.

Bladen County received $8.2 million from lodging, $12.7 million from food, $4.4 million from recreation, $3.4 million from retail and $8.1 million from transportation.

Other southeastern N.C. counties showed the following figures (in millions) and employees in the industry: Brunswick $731.2 (4,575), Columbus $46.9 (343), Duplin $32.0 (239) New Hanover $598 (5,455), Robeson $121.6 (1,092), and Sampson $41.9 (333).
