On April 4, Bladen County Schools held a retreat to discuss each department. No actual budgeting or costs associated with each department or program was discussed at the meeting, according to Valerie Newton, director with Bladen County Schools.
However, the funding sources for each of the departments was listed on the presentation powerpoint without the specific dollar amounts. According to Newton, the retreat was an overview of what each department does, staff members in each department, and what the top focus areas.
