Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church will mark the annual celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 21, with a presentation followed by a light lunch in the PAC Building immediately following the parade.

The speaker for the event will be the Coastal Presbytery’s General Presbyter and Stated Clerk Rev. Jerrod Lowry. Before being named to his current position, Rev. Lowry served as the pastor of Community of Grace Presbyterian Church in Sandy, Utah, for eight years. He was ordained as a tentmaker in 2006 at the Presbytery of New Hope while also serving as pastor at St. Paul Presbyterian Church in Louisburg, North Carolina. He also served as the Associate for Specialized Ministries for the Presbytery of New Hope.

He is graduate of the Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary and currently serves on their Board of Trustees.

The event will also feature a performance by a Cooperative Choir made up of members of the Elizabethtown Presbyterain Church Choir and the Baldwin Branch Missionary Baptist Church Choir.
