The Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater in downtown Lumberton, NC announces the opening of the “River Run Art Show” featuring the students of Robeson Community College’s painting class under the direction of artist Joy McGugan.

A reception for the exhibit will be held 10 am-2 pm Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the theater during the annual Rumba on the Lumber festival, and the exhibit will be on display for one month. The original 2019 Rumba on the Lumber painting by artist Joy A. McGugan will also be on display.

This event is free and open to the public and tours or visits can be arranged by calling the theater at 910-738-4339. Many of the paintings will be available for sale.

The Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater is a beautifully-restored treasure listed on the National Register of Historic Places that offers visitors a unique and visually stunning experience. The theater is located at 315 North Chestnut Street in the heart of downtown Lumberton.  First opened in 1928 as a vaudeville and silent film house, the theater offers a wide array of programming including live touring performances, original productions, art exhibits, films, special events and rentals.
