The North Carolina Department of Transportation gave an update on road closings and openings in and around Bladen County.
OPENINGS:
US 701 at the Sampson County Line is open.
FERRY:
The ferry is not operating. We are working on temporary office accommodations as the ferry house was destroyed. We plan to re-open next week as water levels are projected to continue falling.
CLOSINGS:

OTHER:
Update on NC 41 East at Sampson County/Bladen County line.
In Sampson County, crews worked diligently last weekend staging out of both the NC Department of Transportation’s maintenance facility at White Lake and out of Clinton to repair a massive opening in the road caused by a shift in flow patterns. Kenneth Clark said he spoke with the Sampson CME and they were paving Friday. Clark said it is possible the roadway will reopen either Friday or by the first of the week.
In Robeson County, work has begun to repair the bridge on NC 41. Clark said he did not have an official completion date, but estimated it will be late next week.
Likewise, US 701 in Elizabethtown will be placed on the new US 701 bridge over Brown’s Creek late next week, said Clark
