According to Kenneth Clark with the NC Department of Transportation, due to concerns with having Center Road and Cabbage Road closed simultaneously, NC DOT made a switch today and closed Marsh Road in lieu of Center Road. An update of road openings / closings for Bladen County is as follows:
CLOSINGS:
Cabbage Road
Cabbage Road is closed at a location 1.24 miles south of Singletary Millpond Road in order to replace a crossline pipe damaged during the hurricane. The location will be closed through the middle of next week.
Marsh Road
Marsh Road is closed at a location 0.64 miles north of NC 41 in order to replace a crossline pipe. The road will be closed through the end of the week.
Forrest Drive
Forest Drive is closed at a location 0.36 miles north of NC 242 in order to begin replacement of the first of four crossline pipes on Forest Drive.
UPCOMING CLOSINGS:
Center Road
Beginning Tuesday, May 30, we plan to close Center Road at a location 0.44 miles south of Marsh Road in order to replace a large crossline pipe. The road will be closed through the end of next week.
ELWELL FERRY:
The Elwell Ferry is operating.
