Michael L. Rogers Jr. of Winston-Salem achieved the rank of Eagle Scout on January 7, 2018 at his Court of Honor ceremony held at Highland Presbyterian Church.

Michael is the son of Jill and Michael Rogers and brother of Anna and Emma.  He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Worsley of Elizabethtown, NC and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Rogers of Albemarle, NC. He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 722 of the Wachovia District, Old Hickory Council, chartered to Highland Presbyterian Church.

To earn the rank of Eagle, a Scout must earn at least 21 merit badges and demonstrate leadership and community service by organizing and carrying out an Eagle project.  For his project, Michael completed an extensive tree survey for the Crossnore School and Children’s Home of Winston-Salem and installed permanent tree markers for 15 of the school’s most prominent trees.  Michael is a high school sophomore at Asheville School in Asheville, NC where he is a member of the cross country and JV basketball teams.
