Round Branch Church

Just beyond the city limits of Bladenboro on Center Road, a beacon light shines in a small community, known as Round Branch, that light being is Round Branch Baptist Church. On Sunday October 11, 2015, the church will celebrate its 100th Annual Church Homecoming and Anniversary. The members along with friends and supporters will gather to celebrate the historical event, which marks the Centennial Anniversary.

The history recorded indicates that in the year of 1915, two locals from the community, known as Atlas Lewis and Richard Johnson, along with the Reverend Scipio Smith founded the Round Branch Baptist Church. These men were guided by God, trusted in the power of prayer, and having faith invited community members to come together and worship the Lord. From that first gathering until the present, the light has continued to shine through time and impacted the many generations that have shared in worship. The church has moved from the little one room schoolhouse that once stood across the road from where the present church stands today on Center Road that is now used as farmland. The present building was built in 1972. Proudly, Round Branch Baptist Church still remains a source of faith and spiritual guidance in the community that many love and call home.

The seasons of life have certainly come upon Round Branch Baptist Church as God has allowed it to journey down through the years of time. But even now, as this great church prepares to celebrate 100 years of worship embracing its theme, “We’ve Come This Far by Faith” has been rooted and grounded in the present membership. The attributes of endurance, strength, unity, and faith will continue to be passed on to the generations yet to come.

As we prepare to celebrate a blessing given only by God and through the faithfulness of his servants to continue the legacy, from the first pastor, Reverend Smith, the many other ministers, and until now as the present pastor, Reverend Victor P. Singletary. Pastor Singletary is the great-grandson of one of the founders, Atlas Lewis. The charge is upon us to continue the mission of spreading the Gospel that leads God’s people from darkness unto his marvelous light.

We, Pastor, and members, invite you to join us on this blessed day to give God the Glory. Our service on October 11, 2015 will begin at 9:30 a.m. with Sunday School and at 11:00 a.m. with our Morning Worship Service. The guest speaker will be Dr. Lynn Brinkley, Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church, Clinton, North Carolina. Dinner will be served following the morning service. The afternoon service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Guests for this service will be Pastor Garland Pierce and Bright H
