OVERVIEW: Isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening. The chances for showers and thunderstorms will increase Saturday as a cold front moves through the area. Cooler and drier weather will arrive on Sunday.
For NC Beaches: An elevated rip current risk will exist at times today through Saturday. Refer to the Surf Zone Forecast for the details. Minor coastal flooding is possible Sat/Sun night for downtown Wilmington and for the beaches Sunday night.
