West Bladen senior Savannah Lee has been named the Three Rivers Conference women’s tennis Player of the Year.

Lee led the Lady Knights to the Three Rivers championship, was the TRC singles runner-up and reached the State Class 2A Singles round of 16 where she lost to three-time singles state champion Zoe Huffman.

West Bladen Coach Billy Bryant was also named the Three Rivers Coach of the Year in his first year as head coach after serving as an assistant with previous Coaches Mary Catherine White and Jeff Atkinson. Bryant’s Lady Knights were 16-0 in regular season play.

Also named to the TRC All-Conference team were West Bladen juniors Alyssa Bell and Alyssa Smith and East Bladen senior Ashley Hardin and sophmore Lily Lin.

Lee finished the year 20-5 on the season – three of those losses came in the regionals and state tournament. Lee posted a 12-3 record in doubles play with senior Haleigh Dunn.

Bell and doubles partner Autumn Brisson won the Three Rivers doubles championship and advanced to regional play. Bell posted a perfect 17-0 record at No. 3 singles and a 14-1 record at No. 1 doubles for the Lady Knights.

Smith was 16-1 at No. 5 singles and a perfect 15-0 at No. 3 doubles, playing with senior Mireya Sandoval.

Hardin delivered a 10-5 singles record for the Lady Eagles who also finished with a 10-5 record. Hardin compiled a 12-3 doubles record and partnered with Ting Lin to finish fourth in the league doubles tournament and qualify for the regionals.

Lily Lin was 12-3 in singles play and 7-7 at No. 1 doubles for the Lady Eagles of Coach Megan Kirby.

Receiving honorable mention from West Bladen were junior Autumn Brisson who sported a 15-2 record at No. 2 singles and teamed with Bell to win the TRC doubles championship and qualify for the regionals with a 14-1 doubles record.

Other Lady Knights receiving honorable mention included senior Mireya Sandoval (14-3 singles, 15-0 at No. 3 doubles), and Dunn (13-4 singles, 12-3 doubles).

Recognized with honorable mention from East Bladen were senior Ting Lin (8-7 at No. 1 singles, 13-2 at No. 2 doubles), senior Anna Kate White (6 wins at No. 2 singles, 7-7 doubles) and senior Sarah Meares (9-5 singles).
