Former West Bladen star Sayaun Dent has contributed 9 points and 4 rebounds per game this season to the high-scoring attack of the Sandhills Community College Flyers.

Dent started the season with a season-high 16 points and 7 rebounds in a 68-61 victory over Shooting 4 Greatness Academy, then totaled 13 points and 7 rebounds in a 104-99 loss to Lenoir Community College.

The Flyers lead Region X with a 3-0 record and have posted an 11-5 overall mark, while scoring over 95 points per game. Dent has started 11 games and averages 20 minutes of playing time, 2 assists and one steal per game.

Dent racked up 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in an 89-78 win over Oxford College of Emory, and just missed a double-double with 11 points and 8 rebounds in an 85-82 victory over Guilford Tech.

Saturday night the 6-3 freshman tallied 10 points and 7 rebounds in a 96-86 loss to USC-Salkehatchie. Dent scored 12 points in an earlier victory over the Francis Marion JV.

The Flyers travel to Lenoir Commuity College Wednesday night.
