On Saturday, March 2, the Clarkton School of Discovery Science Olympiad teams attended the regional competition at the University of North Carolina- Wilmington. The Varsity team, coached by Jordan Raynor, medaled in 6 events and finished 12th overall. The JV team, coached by Joshua Parker, walked away with a first place medal in Thermodynamics.

Medals were awarded to the top 10 teams in each event. The Varsity team members were awarded medals in:

2nd place—Elastic Launch Glider— AnnaGrey Heustess and Karli Priest
2nd place— Write It, Do It  – Emma McDuffie and Emma Turbeville
6th place—Heredity—Luke Barber and Gianna Enloe
8th place—Fossils—Luke Barber and Emma McDuffie

9th place—Anatomy and Physiology—Reese Hester and Emma Turbeville

10th place—Boomilever—Luke Barber and Nick Phillips
