Dublin, NC- A large crowd gathered at the Dublin Scout Hut on Friday evening to celebrate the re-dedication of the newly restored building. Dublin Troop 622 members thanked their many supporters and sponsors. The troop announced that the re-dedication ceremony was to honor Scout Paul Davis.

Davis was a member of Troop 622 back in the 50’s before he was killed in a boating accident.  Davis left behind a lasting legacy of what it means to be a good scout.  The Dublin Scout Hut Restoration Committee members, Mr. Tony Parnell, Scout Leader and Site Manager, Mr. Walter Bullard, Scout Leader, Treasurer/Foreman, Alex Hursey, Scoutmaster Troop 622 and Mr. Seth Lewis, Scout Leader, Vice President and Publicity Director, were smiling as big as the boys were because the troop members now have a facility to use.

The Boy Scouts are one of the largest youth development organizations in America. The program leads young people to build character, learn the responsibilities of citizenship, and develop personal fitness.

The Boy Scouts have helped build future leaders of this community for many years.  The boys learn by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun.  Troop 622 is planning to use the newly refurbished site for their next camping trip.
