On Thursday, July 29, the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office, the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation searched multiple areas in Scotland County, attempting to locate a missing Bladen County man. The search consisted of ground searches, K-9 searches, and the assistance of aerial drones.

On March 25, 2021, the family of Brandon Carl Wayne McDonald of Clarkton reported him missing to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office. McDonald’s vehicle, a 2003 Ford F-150 truck, was found wrecked in Fayetteville. Information gathered during the investigation leads authorities to believe McDonald was last seen in Scotland County.

The family of McDonald has offered a reward of $10,000 to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons believed to be involved in McDonald’s disappearance.
