Winter Park will enter the semifinals of the Diamond Youth Baseball Division 1 AAA (Minors) state tournament as the lone unbeaten team of the 12-team double elimination event.
Winter Park defeated Wilmington Supper Optimist 10-6 Tuesday night at Clarkton DYB Complex in the final winner’s bracket contest.
Winter Park is scheduled to play Hope Mills at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in one semifinal game after Supper Optimist plays Topsail beginning at 5:30 p.m.
In Tuesday’s elimination games, Hope Mills notched a 6-5 walk-off win against East Duplin and Topsail defeated Stanley 9-6.
The tournament winner advances to the DYB World Series in Bossier City, Louisiana beginning Aug. 2.
