1. A weekend of rain soaked the ground with 1.27 inches since Friday morning as measured by Bladen Online’s rain gauge. It came on the heels of 11 consecutive days without a drop. And, based on the forecast, we may not be done checking the gauge.

2. It’s Football Friday … oops, Monday … and Bladen Online will cover the games. After Friday’s postponements, Bladen County high school football teams will try to kick off their Four County 1A/2A Conference seasons tonight. It’s East Bladen at Midway in a battle of unbeaten teams and West Bladen at Union. Kickoffs are set for 7 p.m. Bladen Online will have live tweets from the games @BladenOnline. Also, the Bladen Sports Network will broadcast the East Bladen game on WODR 105.3 FM or online at

3. The Bladen County Board of Elections is considering a plan to consolidate voting precincts in Elizabethtown and Bladenboro from two to one in each town. The first of two public meetings about the proposal is scheduled today at 6:30 p.m. at the Bladen County Public Library in Elizabethtown. A meeting in Bladenboro is scheduled Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Historical Building.
