Three Things to KnowGood morning! 3 things to know for Wednesday, September 30

1. Will today tie a record for consecutive days of measurable rain since Bladen Online joined the CoCoRaHS weather network in April 2014? Sure looks like it. We’re at six consecutive days of rain in the gauge through Tuesday. Our record is seven consecutive days from April 15-21, 2015, when we received 2.46 inches.

2. With the Bladen County Board of Elections holding public meetings about consolidating voting precincts in Elizabethtown and Bladenboro from two to one in each town, it’s worth noting that you have until Oct. 9 at 5 p.m. to register to vote in November’s municipal elections. For information, call the Board of Elections at 910 862-6951.

3. Don’t want those pickles the fast-food restaurant worker mistakenly put on your burger? It’s OK to mention it. It’s not OK to start throwing things off the store’s counter as a customer did at a McDonald’s in Carlsbad, New Mexico, the Current-Argus newspaper reports. Police were called, which really put the customer in a pickle for making such a big “dill” over such a minor thing. The man was issued a verbal warning.

And now you know.
