Three Things to KnowGood morning! 3 things to know for Tuesday, September 8

1. Monday, we celebrated Labor Day. Today, it’s Another Look Unlimited Day. May not be an official holiday, but it’s a good idea. Another Look Unlimited Day encourages you to take another look through what you’re getting rid of to identify things which could be donated to charity, given to friends or recycled in another way. It’s the “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” adage. And, you still get the stuff out of your house. It’s a win-win!

2. Government meetings scheduled today include Bladen commissioners special meeting regarding Emergency Management Services at 4:30 p.m. and the regular meeting at 6:30; Elizabethtown council work session at noon and meeting at 7; and White Lake board at 7. Attend if you can. If not, Bladen Online will have coverage.

3. It was 41 years ago today — 1974 — that President Gerald Ford pardoned former President Richard Nixon of all wrongdoing that was related to the Watergate scandal. Nixon had resigned from office a month earlier.

And now you know.
