Jessie Olvier Gause Bladen CountyThank you Sergeant Jessie Oliver Gause for your service to our country!

A Sergeant E-5 in the US Army from June 1968 until June 1970, Gause served our country proudly.

He served in Vietnam from November 1968 until November 1969.

He received his draft notice in high school.  Graduated June 3, 1968 and reported to Basic Training at Ft. Bragg, NC on June 12, 1968.  Advanced Infantry Training (AIT) at Ft. Polk, Louisiana.  Served as Radio Technician Operator (RTO) in Vietnam.  Served with 50th Ordinance Company in Ft. Carson, Colorado for the final six months of my active Army career.

Gause served 12 years with the North Carolina National Guard with home base in Elizabethtown.

He received many Awards. They are: Combat Infantry Badge (CIB), Air Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Reserve Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Tet Campaign Medal

Sergeant Gause said, “The most memorable thing I can say about my service is I thank God that I can call America my home!  I am proud to be an American!”

Currently Gause is serving as Post Commander of VFW Post #8062 and as a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).

Thank you for your service to our country and for continuing to serve! You are an inspiration to many.
