Duke Energy Outage Map - Bladen CountyA line of severe thunderstorms swept through Bladen County on Wednesday morning and caused power outages, flooding and trees down throughout the county. A tornado watch and a high wind warning remain in effect for Bladen County until 7 p.m.

As of 1:15 p.m Duke Energy reported power out to 1,755 customers in Elizabethtown. One customer was also reported out in Clarkton and one was reported out in Bladenboro. Four County Electric Membership Corporation reported 15 customers in Bladen County were out as of 1:30 p.m. Many customers had been restored by 2:15 p.m.

There were also reports of localized flooding in the Lisbon and East Arcadia areas. Elizabethtown streets were also flooded following the storm’s passage.

A tornado warning was issued for Bladen County at 10:45 a.m. when a possible tornado was detected by the doppler radar system. The storm was forecasted to impact Tar Heel, Jerome, Duart, Tobermory and Ammon at the time.

A second tornado warning was issued at about 12:15 p.m. for a second possible tornado located near Elkton. Towns that were impacted by this storm included Clarkton, Elizabethtown, East Arcadia, Carvers, and White Lake.
