For Shawn Sewell and Andy Boahn, the long wait was worth it. Each won the featured races early Sunday morning at Dublin Motor Speedway. Sewell won the Late Model race and the $2,000 top prize while Boahn won the Open Wheel Modified race and the $2,500 payout to the winner.
A heavy rain during practice sessions delayed the start of qualifying to nearly 1 a.m. as track officials worked to get the 4/10ths-mile dirt oval into racing condition. Racing finished after 3 a.m.
In spite of the late hour, there were 56 cars that took the green flag, including a 15-car field in the U-Car division.
