There will be a sheep and meat/dairy goat field day on Saturday, March 19, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Mike Herndon’s farm located at 2543 Barlow Road in Parkton.
This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about goats and sheep. Topics include selecting and culling breeding does, bucks, ewes and rams; artificial insemination demonstration and estrus synchronization; feeding dairy goats, udder care and management; and a milking machine demonstration.
The field day will also include a youth component that highlights selecting animals. St. Pauls’ Farmers Exchange will sponsor the meeting.
