Bladen County Sheriff Jim McVicker is warning Bladen County residents of a scam telephone call involving a company called Unified Processing Service.
Sheriff McVicker said someone claiming to work for Unified Processing Service has been in contact with a pastor from the Tar Heel community and claimed the pastor owed money on a telephone bill from 20 years ago. He said the caller advised the pastor he had to pay the debt.
“I told him not to listen to them,” said Sheriff McVicker.
McVicker advises anyone to not give out any personal information over the telephone.
