A Sheriff’s Office watercraft has gotten a new lease on life.

“Sheriff McVicker tasked me with getting a boat that had been sitting derelict and unused into service before the summer season to ensure that the Sheriff’s Office could effectively respond to waterborne emergencies,” said Gary Turlington.

Turlington said this was just one of the many examples of the Sheriff utilizing existing resources to provide better service at a minimal cost.

The boat is 31 years old and it is not shiny, new, or endowed with accessories but it is suitable to the task, said Turlington.

“This is yet another useful tool in our toolbox to better serve the people in our region,” said Turlington.
