Updated: Shooting in Clarkton Leaves 3 Gunshot Victims

Update: As of 5 p.m. on Wednesday the Sheriff’s Office has no arrests in the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office.

The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office reports another shooting in the Clarkton area. The crime occurred on Sunday evening at Oakdale Apartments. The shooting was from the road into a home, according to the report.

The crime maybe gang or drug related, and according to reports the suspects may have hit an unintended residence.

Chief Deputy with Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, Mac Warner confirmed there are  three  gun shot victims.

The three victims are:

Victim Leon Roberts, of Clarkton, born 11/08/1962 was treated at a hospital and released.

Victim Matthew S. McCall, of Clarkton born 07/17/1990 was transported to a hospital and his condition is not known at this time.

Victim Crystal J. Powell of Clarkton born 06/28/1975 was transported to a hospital and her condition is not known at this time.

The investigation is continuing and is believed to be an isolated incident.  Anyone with information please call the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office at 910-862-6960.

This is the second shooting reported in the Clarkton area since Friday. Calls about a shooting occurring on Harrelson Road in the Clarkton area came in to the Bladen County dispatch center leaving one gun shot victim on Friday afternoon. At this time, the shooting is also under investigation. There are no reports linking the two shooting crimes at this time.
