Shooting in Elizabethtown leaves 2 injured

There was a shooting in Elizabethtown leaving two victims wounded early Friday morning on Della Street. Sergeant Detective T. Davis with Elizabethtown Police Department said one victim has been transported to Cape Fear Valley hospital and is in critical condition.

Another victim of the shooting received a flesh wound. Several rounds struck the home of well respected community leader,  Mark Gillespie. The shooting occurred on the street in the neighborhood.

The victim in critical condition ran into Gillespie’s yard where his clothes now lay.

There are a couple of suspects law enforcement are currently seeking for questioning according to Sgt. Davis. Sgt. Thompson with the Elizabethtown Police Department is the lead Investigator on the case and Chief Parrish along with the State Bureau of Investigation are also on the scene.
