DUNN – Three players each from the Southeastern Athletic Conference co-champions East Bladen and West Bladen have been named to the 2023 SAC-7 All-Conference Boys’ Basketball team.

Receiving All-Conference honors were East Bladen seniors Zamar Lewis, Jacob Nixon and Malcolm Bolden and from West Bladen sophomores Chase Williams and Hezekiah Adams and freshman Jackson Pait.

East Bladen’s Zamar Lewis (34)

Lewis was dubbed “The Man in the Middle” by Coach Aking Elting and recorded 12 double-doubles highlighted by a 19-point, 26-rebound performance in an 85-74 win over Red Springs. The 6-5 center pulled down double-figure rebounds in each of his last 14 games and averaged 10 points and 15 rebounds for the season.

East Bladen’s Jacob Nixon (24)

Nixon averaged 14.1 points and 6 rebounds per game. The 6-3 guard scored 20-plus points in five games and was a double-figure scorer in 22 of the Eagles 26 games. Nixon poured in 32 points in a 79-47 SAC-7 tournament win over Clinton and racked up 25 points and 10 rebounds in an 83-51 victory over Clinton.

East Bladen’s Malcolm Bolden

Bolden topped the Eagles scoring list with a 16.4 average and tallied double-figure points in 22 of his 25 games. The 6-1 guard scored 20-plus points in seven games and racked up a season-high 28 points in a 64-37 win at East Columbus. He also recorded a double-double of 15 points and 12 assists at Fairmont.

West Bladen’s Chase Williams (33)

Williams led the Knights in scoring (14.7) and rebounding (9.5). The 6-7 center posted double-doubles in eight games highlighted by a 28-point, 11-rebound game at South Columbus and scored in double-figures in 23 of his 26 games. He closed the regular season with a 13-point, 18-rebound performance in a key overtime win over Red Springs and tallied 15 points and 18 rebounds in the championship-clinching victory at Midway.

West Bladen’s Hezekiah Adams (2)

Adams averaged 12.8 points per game and scored in double-figures in 19 of 26 games. The 5-11 guard fired in 22 points in a 61-37 win over East Columbus and lit up the scoreboard with 24 points in a key victory at Fairmont. He just missed a double-double with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals in the overtime win over Red Springs.

West Bladen’s Jackson Pait (dribbling basketball)

Pait scored in double-figures in 16 of West Bladen’s 26 games and averaged 11.8 points per game. The 6-0 guard blistered the nets with seven 3-point baskets and scored 24 points in an overtime win over East Bladen. He also opened the game with four 3-point baskets and totaled 21 points and 6 assists in a victory over Clinton.
