For years, this spot has been a go-to for locals. Whether it is a Friday afternoon catfish special or, arguably, the best burger around – Benson’s Grill is loved by many. Dick and Rita Benson started it all when they purchased the property back in the 70s, and the family tradition has continued ever since.
With a dream of being business-owners, the husband-and-wife team opened up Benson’s Grill where they served hamburgers and hotdogs. Today, the grill is owned and operated by the children of Dick and Rita: Russell and Tina Benson, and Sarah Benson.
Benson’s Grill is a family operation with a team of “friendly and wonderful” staff members, according to co-owner, Sarah Benson. The staff at the grill includes Manager Ricky Dowless, Billy Goodwin, (daughter-in-law) Pam Benson, Elizabeth Albright, (granddaughter) Jessica Hammonds, and (sister) Sandra “Buck” Breland. Sarah said, “It’s just a family tradition!”
Sarah added, “From time to time we even have some of the Great Grands to come in and help out so they, too, can maybe someday continue what their Grandparents started.”
Happy customers are encouraged to feel like they’re home at Benson’s Grill. You will find the same smiling faces at the order window each time you visit, and quality is always a priority. According to the owners, “Here at Benson’s we are ALL family and strive to make everyone feel welcomed and at home.”
Speaking of quality, the owners shared, “We mix our hamburgers fresh daily and all ingredients are homemade. I like to think that we have the best burgers around. Over the years we have added subs and our Friday Special of Catfish Plates.”
“Hopefully we can continue to serve our customers for many years to come. Over the last few years we have even added a pick up window. Our goal is to provide the best service and food each and everyday,” Sarah stated.

“We love our customers and thank them for supporting us on a daily basis, but most importantly we thank God for blessing us and allowing us to do what we do on a daily basis because without him nothing is possible.”
